Abstrak

Artikel ini mengkaji makna teologis kematian dan kehidupan setelah kematian berdasarkan perumpamaan orang kaya dan Lazarus dalam Lukas 16:19–31. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan naratif-teologis yang memperhatikan konteks sosial-historis, tulisan ini menemukan bahwa kematian bukanlah akhir eksistensi, melainkan pintu gerbang menuju realitas kekal yang ditentukan oleh sikap hidup manusia terhadap Allah dan sesama. Perumpamaan ini menegaskan keadilan ilahi, finalitas kondisi pascakematian, serta pentingnya pertobatan yang didasarkan pada kesaksian Kitab Suci. Di samping itu, perumpamaan ini mengandung seruan etis bagi umat percaya masa kini untuk menjalani kehidupan dengan tanggung jawab moral dan sosial, serta tidak hanya mengandalkan simbol-simbol religius lahiriah. Penelitian ini menawarkan kontribusi terhadap studi teologi Perjanjian Baru dan memberikan refleksi teologis yang relevan bagi kehidupan umat Kristen dalam menghadapi kematian, menghidupi iman, dan mengupayakan keadilan sosial.
