Analisa Tingkat Pemahaman Gerenasi Z Terhadap Toloransi di Era Pendidikan Modern

The growing issue of intolerance in education, particularly in elementary and secondary schools, served as the starting point for this research. The most common forms of intolerance, whether racial or cultural, are religious discrimination. The method used in this study was a questionnaire survey via Google Forms distributed to 100 respondents, all of whom were high school students in Tangerang City, Banten Province. The results showed that 11% of respondents had experienced cases of intolerance, especially among students categorized as religious minorities. Meanwhile, indicators of understanding the importance of tolerance showed a very good percentage, with 97% of respondents stating that tolerance was very important. The forms of intolerance found included mockery of beliefs, insults to ways of worship, and coercion to follow the majority religion. The results of this study provide several recommendations. Most Generation Z members discussed the importance of maintaining good communication, speaking politely, and avoiding discrimination as a form of tolerance. These findings confirm that despite the prevalence of intolerant practices in schools, Generation Z is aware of the importance of tolerance as a foundation for harmony in a multicultural society
